The rule, in plain English
- Our calculations are independent of advertisers. No partner, sponsor, or affiliate relationship influences any formula, assumption, or result on this site.
- Partners cannot purchase better numbers. There is no price at which a calculator result changes, a ranking is bought, or an assumption is tilted toward a product.
- Commercial relationships never change the math. The same inputs always produce the same outputs, regardless of who advertises with us.
- Compensation is disclosed next to the recommendation. If we may earn a commission from a link, the disclosure sits in the same visual unit as the link — never buried in a footer or a separate page alone.
- We publish the methodology. Assumptions, formulas, limitations, and sources are documented on every calculator and summarized on our Methodology page, so anyone can check our work.
- Sponsored placements are labeled and fenced. Any commercial recommendation appears only in a clearly labeled Sponsored box, positioned as a suggested next step after your results — never inside a calculator, never in the navigation, never as a pop-up.
The disclosure standard
Every affiliate link on Figmetric follows the same pattern — this is the site standard, not a suggestion:
- A labeled Sponsored container holding the recommendation.
- Adjacent plain-language disclosure: "Figmetric may earn a commission if you apply through this link, at no cost to you."
- Machine-readable tagging: every affiliate link carries
rel="sponsored nofollow". - At most one sponsored box per calculator or guide, shown only after the free content.
The full placement rule — including social and video disclosure requirements — is documented in our internal affiliate rulebook, and the current status of every live affiliate relationship is listed on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
What we don't do
- No fake product rankings or pay-to-rank lists.
- No unsubstantiated "best" claims — if we compare products, the comparison is driven by your own calculation.
- No selling links for SEO or publishing sponsored articles designed to pass ranking authority.
- No gating the calculators: the free tools stay free. Commercial offers are contextual next steps, not tolls.
